It’s come to my attention that a few of you ne’er-do-wells out there take objection to the fact that “Rock the Dragon” was soundly defeated by “CHA LA, HEAD CHA-LA” in Issue 6 of Otaku USA. I can think of only one explanation for why anyone would think in such a fashion; that they must not know about Hironobu Kageyama.


Anime in 3D: Not for Me!

In Issue 6 of Otaku USA, I touched upon the issues I had with the 3D animation in films such as Appleseed and Vexille, along with cel-shaded works such as Freedom Project. But truth be told, films like those are probably at the top of the heap, and that’s not saying much. Let’s look at a few other examples, shall we?


SpeedGrapher Boxset

Any time a more mature-themed title arrives for review here at the Otaku USA offices, it’s a breath of fresh air. Speedgrapher is one such title. The main character is a former war photographer named Saiga who used to spend his time running through the jungle capturing death and destruction on film.
