Idol group members have been no stranger to manga and anime adaptations of late, and NEWS's Tomohisa Yamashita (
Kurosagi) is the latest addition to the growing list. He'll be starring in the live-action adaptation of
Ashita no Joe under the direction of Fumihiko Sori (
Ping Pong,
Vexille).
The film, based on the classic—in Japan, at least—boxing manga by Asao Takamori and Tetsuya Chiba, is set to open in theaters there in February. In the meantime, you can get a very early peek at the idol and his co-stars in action via a 30-second teaser on the official website.
