Junya Inoue's Btooom! manga follows 22-year-old Ryūta Sakamoto, who's unemployed and lives with his mother, spending most of his time acing enemies online as one of the top players of a game known as Btooom! His layabout life changes, however, when he wakes up one day on a tropical island, seemingly transported to a real-life version of the game.
Madhouse animates the adaptation, directed by Kotono Watanabe, who worked on series like Chihayafuru and Aoi Bungaku. Check out the first promo, featuring May'n's end theme, below.
The Btooom! anime is set to premiere on Japanese TV in October. Yen Press is releasing Inoue's manga in North America starting spring 2013.

It looks kind of cool (except for the ecchi), but I can't take that name seriously.
