Space Battleship Yamato teaser. Takashi Yamazaki—remember his earlier works like
Returner and
Juvenile? It's okay if you don't, I hardly do myself—is directing the VFX-heavy flick, with boy band SMAP's Takuya Kimura in the lead.
The film is slated for release in Japan in December 2010. I'm kind of shocked it looks as good as it does, especially considering how the trailer crept up on everyone. Check it out below to see for yourself if you haven't already. Thanks to the dozens of people that linked this to me over the course of the new year transition.
