Toei Looking to Kick Off Global Sailor Moon Revival
Ideally, this is just the beginning

Sailor Moon knocked a bunch of unsuspecting people into the world of anime fandom back when DIC originally aired it on US television, and the love for the series and its characters is still celebrated over here. Unfortunately for those fans, we really haven't seen much of Toei's property since the release of ADV's subtitled DVDs, which quickly became collector's items. (Even I used to own the first set, true confession!)

Well, Toei is looking to bring the Sailor Senshi back in a big way, an endeavor that really kicked off last fall when they began rebroadcasting the show on Japanese television. They're looking toward expanded horizons now, and will be starting with Italy.

Toei's partner in Italy is Backstage, which will be taking care of the property's rights in publishing, TV and merchandising. Mediaset is planning to begin Sailor Moon broadcasts in Italy in fall of this year, and Toei has high hopes for the series' continued success in the country. Ideally, this is just the beginning.

So, do we have any SM fans here that are hoping this revival eventually makes it stateside?

WOW!! so they are actual going to re-launch SAILOR MOON on TV? O.O the long waited dream is over!! ^^ Lets hope that after being re-launched in Japan and Italy, they have it in europes most countries like germany and then be able to negotiate with Funimations about re-dubing it, re-licence it, and launching it in the U.S. . But this isnt the only thing that shocks me, Kodansha is going to re-publish the SM manga series and for the 1 time releasing CODENAME: SAILOR V manga in the U.S. since its release in japan in 1992. They will launch the mangas on Septermber 2011. Spread the joy and love for SM =3

I am very happy to hear that Sailor Moon coming back is a very real possibility and not just rumour I think that Darien is absolutly the most expenible character on the bloody show! Other than that what bloody purpose does he serve? >> Brother Maynard

I didn't start watching Sailor Moon until about November 2010. I have loved it ever since. Some things, like DiC's dub, aren't exactly the best...I mean, seriously, in the Sailor Moon R Movie, Rini said "Now, go get 'em, Moon Mama!" Ugh, gag! "You're totally bugging?" By like, what, every character?! Who comes up with this stuff??!! -__- Anyways, I loved Sailor Moon so much...and started crying when I found out they never dubbed Sailor Stars, i cried. and was depressed. then, a week or two ago, i heard FUNimation may re-dub the whole series. my hopes are high, and i'm praying they do. i love Sailor Moon and i cant stand to think it'll die the way DiC did it. They neeeed to re due Sailor Moon, and i hope they do re-do it. i'd love that, and it would just make things...perfect! so, come on Moonies! lets hope that FUNi will reallly re-dub Sailor Moon, and even dub Sailor Stars! because I am a Soldier of Love and Justice, and in the name of the moon, I shall punish subs! :3

Long live the Sailor Soldiers! (no offense, but especially Sailor Saturn!) Long live the Moon Kingdom! Long Live Crystal Tokyo! (this is getting long...) Long live the Moon Princess! Long live Neo-Queen Serenity! Long live SAILOR MOON!

YESSS!!! Please bring it back! I don't care if it's with english subs or english dubbed, but just bring it back on TV! I really wish I appreciated it more as a child, and I would love it if the U.S. got it reliscensed to show it on television and possibly redub and/or dub Sailor Stars. I hope TV producers really consider this, I've seen so many videos and comments like this all over the internet to bring Sailor Moon back, so I don't think popularity will be a problem!
