Viz Media unleashed a big announcement in advance of this weekend's Anime Expo convention, with the unveiling of Neon Alley, a 24-hour online anime network. Though Viz has yet to specify the specific platform for Neon Alley, they did reveal plans to debut it on "a major game console" this fall.
Neon Alley will mix it up with the programming, providing anime in the action, adventure, sci-fi, supernatural, fantasy, and horror genres, as well as martial arts movies. Shows and films mentioned include Naruto Shippuden, InuYasha: The Final Act, Death Note, Tiger & Bunny, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc, Zetman, and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, uncut and dubbed in English. They'll also be featuring original content such as news and behind-the-scenes footage.
Viz will be rolling Neon Alley out with a subscription plan, priced at $6.99 a month with limited commercials. More information can be found at the official website, but what do you think of this move? Would you subscribe to a service like Neon Alley?

It'll be interesting to see if they start pulling their stuff off Hulu where you can get most of the titles mentioned for free on just about any device.
