Mike here after what seems like forever! Instead of doing my usual message, just going to point out a few things from this episode that are kind of interesting.

1) If the Headdesk Chorus sounds familiar, it means you probably watched Tiny Toon Adventures when you were a kid; Il Travatore is an actual musical piece that involves a guy striking an anvil... and naturally, somebody put two and two together regarding the application of it. Special thanks goes to Jon "Ryusei" Cassidy for helping me figure this out at the last second!

2) I completely missed it until after I'd finished mixing down the episode, but the frigging Mazinkaiser SKL teaser just came out! Go watch it!

3) This week's 5 In Tune intro is an unplugged rendition of David Bowie's Life on Mars via The Life Aquatic soundtrack. Why? Because a good friend of mine rung me up in the midst of production about a correlation she'd discovered between it and the spin-off, Ashes to Ashes. That and I was hard-pressed for a transition piece.

4) For those that believe otherwise, yes, I know the clip I used for the Akira blurb was fake. That's kind of the joke.
