I don't like coffee but I'd buy it!
By the way, Witch Hunt (the translators of O7thExpansion works from Umineko on) is officially recognized by 07thExpansion. Which makes them ABSOLUTELY legal fan translators.
There's just something about the odd 80's anime I enjoy. I don't know why.

Nomura Calls New Games Priority Over Final Fantasy VII Remake

Fans will likely never stop holding out hope for a fancy HD remake of Final Fantasy VII, arguably the most popular entry in the long-running RPG series. Square Enix knows this, and so does character designer Tetsuya Nomura. According to a recent Famitsu interview with Nomura, though, he says the focus at the moment is on making new titles.

Nomura hopes the new titles they're creating at Square Enix will match or even top Final Fantasy VII. While that answer isn't likely to satisfy fans, he also offered up some FFVII development trivia. For instance, originally Yuffie was going to be a wanted character, with posters showing her face throughout Midgar. The faces on each poster would be different, and the Yuffie that eventually hops in your party would resemble the last one you saw.

Hey, even if we never get a remake, PC gamers can always try out the mod managing program Bootleg for a Final Fantasy VII HD experience.

I got into the gaming world 3 years ago and I haven't played FF7 but after watching Advent Children, I would love to see a remake of this, but Nomura is right about holding off on it. The first FF game I played was FF13 last year. Yes the story is strange/nonsensical, but it's graphics and my love for Fang and Lightning beat everything. It was six years ago that Final Fantasy Versus 13 was announced. I think it's time they finally delivered FF Versus 13 (FF 15?) Let's just say I wasn't a happy camper watching E3 this year.

While I'm one of the people who have also wanted this to happen, I just don't think it would hold up anymore. The game is lovely, but ancient, and all the play mechanics are too. I just don't think an HD version would cover it. I think to satisfy modern gamers, you would have to change the whole game really, except the story.

Understand, I hold FF7 as the very pinnacle of gaming for it's time, and certainly one of the very best games ever crafted. Playing it now though is more for nostalgia than gaming fun I think, even in an HD version.

I honestly would love to play FF7 over with enhanced graphics. After FF10 I will never buy another Final Fantasy game anyways cause they are nowhere near as good as the old ones.

No more remakes, it ruins the original game and the impact it makes on our lives. I hold FF7 as one of the best games, but why pay for another game you already have?
