Akiba’s Trip Anime’s Cast, Story Revealed

The site for Akiba’s Trip: The Animation, the upcoming anime based on the popular game series, has revealed some new details about the series, including the main cast and a story outline.

Let’s go (s)tripping.

The series, which premieres in January and will be animated by studio Gonzo, will boast the following cast:

Haruki Ishiya (Shuichi, Sound! Euphonium) as Tamotsu Denkigai
Rie Takahashi (Megumin, KonoSuba) as Matome Manseika
Marika Kono (Rin, Seiyu’s Life) as Niwaka Denkigai
Yuki Nagaku (Ichigo, Seiyu’s Life) as Arisa Ahokainen

The site also has a new description of the series, which we’ve translated here:

Akihabara: a broad-minded city that accepts everyone, from beginners to experts. Even if you come alone, there’s someone who will understand you here. A place where anything can happen in a spirit of freedom. A place where your spirit and body can become bare. In Akihabara, a place where anime, games, maids, idols, junk parts, and B-class gourmet food all come together, a boy-meets-girl story featuring battles against monsters called Bagurimono begins!

As previously announced, the series will be directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (Seiyu’s Life) and written by Kazuho Hyodo (ReLIFE).

The original Akiba’s Trip game takes place in – you guessed it – Akihabara, and involves ripping the clothes off vampire-like creatures in order to expose them to the sun (you can read our review here).

Looking forward to some Akiba (s)tripping courtesy Gonzo?
