Boy And The Beast DVD Features Shibuya Location Map

Now this is cool.

As we mentioned of our review of The Boy and the Beast, the new Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children, Summer Wars) film, one of the film’s primary locations is Shibuya, the real-life Tokyo ‘hood famed for its shopping, fashion and nightlife.

The Boy and the Beast replicated Shibuya down to the last detail, and as a testament to how accurate it was, a map to the locations used in the film is set to be distributed as a promotion for the Japanese home video release of the film.

The map, which will be available from February 24 at Shibuya’s tourist information center, will also be available as a smartphone app.

Been thinking about that trip to Tokyo? Now might be a good time.

By the way, The Boy and the Beast wasn’t the first anime to use Shibuya as a location. Check out our guide to the city as used by anime.
