The anime adaptation of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi’s Dr. Stone manga is coming to TV in Japan this July, and the official website went up with some fresh details. In addition to a new visual, we now know the main staff behind the production, which has director Shinya Iino (assistant director on Made in Abyss) leading the charge.
Manga writer Inagaki will be supervising all of the anime’s scripts. Here’s the main staff members revealed thus far:
Director: Shinya Iino
Series composition: Yuichiro Kido (Pop Team Epic)
Character designer: Yuko Iwasa (Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas)
Music: Tatsuya Kato, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, YUKI KANESAKA
Animation production: TMS Entertainment (Lupin the Third, Detective Conan)
The new visual features the series’ four leads, Senku Ishigami (voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi), Taiju Ohki (Makoto Furukawa), Yuzuriha Ogawa (Kana Ichinose), and Tsukasa Shishio (Yuichi Nakamura).
Viz Media publishes the manga in North America. Here’s how they describe it:
One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science- loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he’s got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!
