Kill la Kill, Sword Art Online Singer Eir Aoi to Return From Hiatus

Eir Aoi returnsGood news for fans of Eir Aoi: the singer, who went on hiatus in 2017, is back.

The hiatus, announced in August 2016, was due to Aoi’s poor physical health, as reported by her label, Sony Music Entertainment.

According to a post on the singer’s official website, Aoi will return to musical activities this spring. The post also included a brand-new song entitled “Yakusoku” (“Promise”) devoted to her fans. The video is region-locked to Japan, but we suspect Aoi fans abroad will find a way!

Since her professional debut in 2011, Aoi has contributed theme songs to series such as fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, Kill la Kill, Aldnoah.Zero, and The Heroic Legend of Arslan.
