Known for comics such as Saga, Ex Machina, Runaways, and Y: The Last Man, Brian K. Vaughan has built quite a body of work over the years. He’ll soon be able to add a live-action anime adaptation to the list, because Sunrise and Legendary Entertainment have tapped him to write and executive produce the Hollywood Mobile Suit Gundam movie.

Vaughan is no stranger to writing for the screen. He previously penned episodes of Lost and Stephen King‘s Under the Dome, and his Y: The Last Man comic is coming to FX as a TV series.

Cale Boyter (producer on Pacific Rim: Uprising, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu) is overseeing the Gundam project. Stay tuned for more updates on Hollywood’s take on the long-running anime franchise as they’re revealed.
