Maaya Sakamoto performs new Cardcaptor Sakura opening theme

Here’s some nice news for Cardcaptor Sakura fans.

Performing the theme for the new Cardcaptor Sakura will be none other than Maaya Sakamoto, who sang the third opening theme for the original 90s series.

The theme will be called “CLEAR,” and will open the new series, Clear Card Arc, which debuts January 2018.

“CLEAR” will be composed by Yoshiki Mizuno from popular band Ikimono-gatari.

Sakamoto original series’ opening theme, “Platinum,” was its third. It was written by Yuho Iwasato and Yoko Kanno.

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc premieres January 7, 2018.
