Magical Girl Manga Machikado Mazoku Gets Anime Series

Machikado Mazoku, the magical girl anime by Izumo Ito, has been given the anime green light, it was reported today.

The manga, about two would-be mortal enemies who become friends, has been running in Manga Time Kirara Carat—the home of works like K-On! and Puella Magi Kazumi Magica—since 2014. There have been four collected volumes released so far.

Ito followed the announcement with a message of thanks to fans on Twitter.

Machikado Mazoku centers around a 15-year-old girl named Yuko Yoshida who, it turns out, is a member of a demon tribe locked in eternal battle with magical girls. Yuko fights one of those magical girls, Momo Chiyoda, and gets stomped. But then, in a twist, the two become friends.
