MAPPA has a new production underway, and this time it’s an adaptation of Homura Kawamoto and Toru Naomura’s high-stakes gambling manga Kakegurui. Garo the Animation‘s Yuichiro Hayashi directs the anime, with Yasuko Kobayashi (Attack on Titan, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) on series composition and Manabu Akita on character designs.
In the world of Kakegurui, social standing at the prestigious Hyakkaou Private Academy is determined by high-stakes gambling skills. While the student council rules with an iron fist, the academy is about to get a shake-up with the arrival of a mysterious and beautiful transfer student named Yumeko Jabami.
Yen Press publishes the manga in English under the title Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler.
