Mind Game and Devilman crybaby director Masaaki Yuasa and his anime studio Science SARU are getting ready to tackle a new project from a familiar source. Next up for the studio is a Crayon Shin-chan anime spinoff called Super Shiro, which will follow the secret superheroic side to Shin-chan’s otherwise totally unremarkable dog Shiro.

The spinoff will have Yuasa directing overall alongside Tomohisa Shimoyama (animation director for Devilman crybaby, key animator for two Shin-chan movies) as chief director and Kimiko Ueno (Little Witch Academia, the 21st, 23rd, and 26th Shin-chan movies) handling the scripts.
