Music Video for New Macross Frontier Single Unveiled

Yes, you heard that right. Macross Frontier may have aired 10 years ago, but there’s a new song from the series.

Well, “from” might be the wrong word, but in any case, the new single, “Good job!”, performed by Megumi Nakajima (Ranka Lee) and May’n (Sheryl Nome) celebrates the 10th anniversary of Frontier. Now the music video, starring Nakajima and May’n, has been revealed for all to see.

In-universe, the song was recorded by Ranka Lee and Sheryl Nome just before the final battle that took place in 2059.

The single, which goes on sale September 26, will include two additional new songs: “Go~~jeasu” (i.e. “Gorgeous”) by Nome/May’n and “Ranka to Brand New Peach” by Lee/Nakajima. The songs are all produced by Yoko Kanno, who did the music for the series.

Kind of a bummer the “Good job!” music video doesn’t include any new Macross-related animation, but it does have someone trying to make an ice cream sundae while wearing a spacesuit, so, you know, tradeoffs.
