Netflix Producing Live-Action Death Note Sequel

Netflix Producing Live-Action Death Note SequelThere were some pretty strong negative reactions in the anime community about Netflix’s live-action Death Note film, but it seems to have been successful enough to warrant a sequel.

That’s the word from the Hollywood Reporter, which says Netflix is developing a sequel to the 2017 film.

The Hollywood Reporter also reports that Greg Russo, who is also attached to Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat reboots, is working on a script.

According to Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos, the 2017 Death Note was a “sizable” success for the streaming service.

The film starred Nat Wolff as Light Turner and Willem Dafoe as Ryuk and was directed by Adam Wingard.

Are you looking forward to or dreading the Death Note sequel? What did you think of the first one?
