New Naruto Shippuden ending theme chosen

News from the world of everyone’s favorite ninja anime, Naruto Shippuden, is that a song has been chosen for the long-running series’ new ending theme, set to begin in January 2013.

The song is called “Sayonara Memory,” and it’s the 5th single the incredibly hard to Google band 7!! (seriously, give it a try). 7!!’s second single, “Lovers,” was used as Naruto’s opening theme in 2011.

This will be the 24th ending theme for Naruto Shippuden, meaning the series has had about as many ending themes as most series have episodes. Whoa, man.

The band, whose name is pronounced “Seven Oops,” are a four-piece hailing from Okinawa, Japan’s southernmost island. Their official website claims, “once you listen to vocal NANAE’s sweet and innocent voice, you’ll never forget it.”

We’ll leave that for you to judge. Here’s 7!!’s video for “Lovers”!
