Over the weekend, Game Freak CEO Junichi Masuda appeared on the weekly Pokémon Smash TV program to make a very special announcement, revealing Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 for Nintendo DS.

The direct followups to Pokémon Black/White are scheduled to hit Japan in June, but Nintendo added that both would be coming to North America and Europe “soon.” Now that date has been narrowed down, with a Nintendo press release establishing a fall release window for both territories.

As you can see above, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are leading the official art for this new adventure. Who’s excited for more Pokémon later this year? Anyone disappointed it’s hitting DS and not 3DS?
