Nominations Out For Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2016’s Anime Of The Year

The Tokyo Anime Award Festival is, well, pretty much what it sounds like: a yearly award show that bestows prizes on the best anime of the year.

The nominations for best anime of the year are out for this year’s TAAF. Let’s check out who might take home the gold.

TAAF has two categories, Best Theatrical Film and Best Television Anime, and four productions have been nominated in each category. For films, the nominees are:

The Anthem of the Heart

The Boy and the Beast

Expelled from Paradise
Love Live! The School Idol Movie

The television productions nominated are:

Mr. Osomatsu
Your Lie in April
Shirobako
One Punch Man

The nominated works were chosen by a group of 100 anime-industry pros from a list of 489 productions released between November 1, 2014 and October 31, 2015. The Tokyo Anime Award Festival takes place March 21. Tune in then to see what won!
