Prison School Mega Update: Video, Director, Cast Revealed

Get hyped for Prison School (Kangoku Gakuen). The net’s just been hit with an information dump on the upcoming adaptation of Akira Hiramoto’s manga about four boys who enter a super-strict all-girls’ school, including the director, cast, studio and a pretty insane video preview.

Prison School will be directed by none other than Tsutomu Mizushima, fresh off the popular Shirobako (which happened to feature a thinly-veiled self-portrait of the director himself) at Shirobako studio J.C. Staff.

Script supervision will be handled by Michiko Yokote (also of Shirobako) while Junichiro Taniguchi (Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun) will take on both character designs and chief animation direction.

The main voice cast breaks down like this:

Hiroshi Kamiya as Kyoshi
Katsuyuki Konishi as Gakuto
Kenichi Suzumura as Shingo
Daisuke Namikawa as Joe
Kazuyuki Okitsu as Reiji “Andre” Ando

Last but not least, we’ve got the first trailer for the series, and unless you work in a pretty liberal office, we’re definitely going to call this one NSFW.

Prison School debuts this July, and call us sickos, but we will definitely be tuning in.
