Production I.G Developing Brave Witches VR Project

Brave Witches is going virtual.

The upcoming Strike Witches spinoff series will be adapted into a VR project by anime studio Production I.G, it was revealed today.

It appears the project, which has the temporary name Brave Witches VR, is not exactly a game, but a short virtual reality anime film that have about a 10-minute runtime and feature divergent paths.

I.G is considering multiple platforms for Brave Witches VR, including Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR, and intends to release the project worldwide.

The project is apparently the result of months or years of research into VR at Production I.G, who are also interesting in developing further VR films. A demo version of Brave Witches VR will be on display at Production I.G’s booth at the Tokyo Game Show.

The Brave Witches anime series will debut in October.
