Professor Layton TV Series, New Game Coming in 2018

Professor Layton gets anime series

Professor Layton, the puzzle game series from developer Level-5, is getting a 26-episode TV series in 2018.

That’s the word from a report about Level-5 expanding its presence overseas at licensing events.

A separate report indicated that the Layton series would be getting a new game in summer 2018.

The latest release on the Professor Layton docket is Layton’s Mystery Journey, initially known as Lady Layton, which came to smartphones this July and will hit 3DS October 6.

Layton has been adapted into anime once before with the film Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva. The animated cutscenes in Layton’s Mystery Journey were animated by studio A-1 Pictures.
