April 14, 2010 This definitely ranks near the top of places I’d like to visit in the not so distant future. After all, who wouldn’t want to sample something called “Gun-Pla-yaki,” a tasty and nerdy sounding dish modeled after the first 1/144 Gundam model kit?
That is but one of the items offered up at Bandai’s official Gundam cafe, which opens just outside the Akihabara Japan Railway station on April 24. This hopeful hot spot could also now be called the only official Gundam cafe, since the original closed along with the Matsudo-located Bandai Museum in 2006.
Surely Gun-Pla-yaki and Jaburo Coffee are just a couple examples of what faithful fans can expect while soaking in their favorite franchise at the cafe. Heck, if you happen to be in Japan later this month, stop in and spill the beans to us all as soon as possible!
