Secrets of the Otaku-Verse Season 2

Can you feel the excitement in the air? That subtle feeling that “somethin’ good is gonna happen’? Are you “pickin’ up good vibrations”, et. al? Ok, well, I don’t know much about all that, but I do know that Season Two of Otaku-Verse Zero is set to launch on Saturday, March 26th on Crunchyroll, so I’m feeling pretty good about something at least.

For those of you not in the know, Otaku-Verse Zero is a weekly web show that I co-host alongside vivacious voice actress Yuu Asakawa (Love Hina, Megurine Luka from Vocaloid). Together, we roam the universe—well, OK, Tokyo, mainly—looking for crazy stuff related to anime, manga, games, and Japanese culture in general to report on. In the past we’ve covered toy events in Akihabara, dirty movie theaters in Asakusa, cutting-edge Harajuku fashion, made our own manga, and done a lot of sitting around in the studio laughing like goons.

Now, with a full batch of new episodes ready to unleash, our taskmasters at Kz’Station have assembled a tasty teaser trailer for Season Two (above) that contains tantalizing glimpses of what’s ahead.

I don’t want to whip out any major spoilers but… hey, is that female otaku spawning ground Otome Dori that is briefly glimpsed during the montage? (maybe). Is that me dressed like a ninja rolling around on the ground and delivering a devastating shuriken attack (possibly)? And is that not footage of Yuu Asakawa with the backstage jitters at her live concert performance (could be)? And, perhaps most baffling of all… why am I playing Space Invaders?

All the answers will be revealed soon when Season Two of Otaku-Verse Zero strikes Crunchyroll.com on Saturday!
