The continuation of Kyoto Animation’s popular swimming anime, Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club, was confirmed at an official talk event in Japan, following up on a message that closed out the first season. There’s no official date for the series’ return, but fans weren’t the only ones taken aback by the news.

Many reports said even the cast members were surprised upon hearing the announcement, having not been told of the second season yet themselves. Here’s the key visual for the second coming of the swim club, which was on display at the event.
