The Great Gaiking and Avatar CG Connection

No, that doesn’t mean you’ll be seeing Gaiking in full IMAX 3D city-shattering glory, but there is a connection there. Light Stage, known for CG work on films like Spider-man 2, King Kong, and most recently James Cameron’s Avatar, put their award-winning computer-animated touch on a pilot for Toei’s Gaiking remake.

Toei Animation announced Light Stage’s involvement, though we likely won’t be able to see more than the accompanying image until the pilot is revealed at Tokyo International Anime Fair this week.
