What could you possible do in a seven-minute Final Fantasy VII Remake commercial with almost no gameplay footage? Simple: You tell the story of an office worker played by Masataka Kubota, who hasn’t played the original Final Fantasy VII. Through discussions with his bosses, girlfriend (Misato Morita), and a big FFVII fan played by Tetsuji Tamayama, his interest in the game begins to grow.
The commercial in question aired in its entirety during Fuji TV’s FNS 27-hour TV: Japanese Sports are Strong!. There’s also a 13-minute extended cut online, and you can see both—sorry, no subtitles yet!—below.
Final Fantasy VII Remake launches on March 3, 2020.
