Michiru Shimada—a 58-year-old anime scriptwriter with credits that include series composition and script work on anime such as Little Witch Academia, One Piece, Urusei Yatsura, Little Busters!, and many more—has passed away due to illness.

News of Shimada’s passing comes from her daughter, who made an announcement on Shimada’s Twitter account. She mentioned she had been ill for the past year, and thanked fans for their support over the past 38 years of her mother’s career.
