Anime Singer Eir Aoi Goes on Hiatus

Eir Aoi, known for performing multiple anime opening and ending themes since her debut in 2011, is going on hiatus, according to a press release from her label Sony Music Entertainment.

The press release cited the singer’s poor physical health as the reason for the break.

Since her professional debut in 2011, Aoi has contributed theme songs to series such as fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, Kill la Kill, and Aldnoah.Zero. Her most recent single, “Tsubasa,” is the opening theme for the currently-airing The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance.

Here’s wishing the singer a speedy recovery and return to stage and studio.
