November 18, 2009 Jake Adelstein, author of Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter on the Police Beat in Japan, made an appearance on a recent episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. In the clip, which is embedded below, Adelstein talks in brief about his many brushes with the yakuza, the story that kickstarted the book, and how he ultimately wound up in Japan twenty years ago in search of enlightenment and karate.
