As announced in the July issue of Jump SQ magazine and volume 9 of the manga in question, Trigun author Yasuhiro Nightow’s Blood Blockade Battlefront is getting an anime adaptation.
Details on what kind of production it will be—TV series, OVA, etc.—as well as the cast and staff involved, will be revealed at a later date. The magazine and manga volume carrying the announcement go on sale in Japan June 4, and you can see the covers below.
Series synopsis:
A breach between Earth and the netherworlds has opened up over the city of New York, trapping New Yorkers and creatures from other dimensions in an impenetrable bubble. They’ve lived together for years, in a world of crazy crime sci-fi sensibilities. Now someone is threatening to sever the bubble, and a group of stylish superhumans is working to keep it from happening.
