Both Gantz Films and More to Screen at NYAFF

The New York Asian Film Festival is always a big event, and this year’s 10th anniversary celebration looks like it will stay true to that tradition in every way. Among a lineup loaded with must-see flicks are the two live-action adaptations of Hiroya Oku’s Gantz, the second of which is making its North American debut. Both will feature English subtitles. (Check out our review of Gantz: Perfect Answer here.)

The lineup of movies for the rest of the Asian world is looking pretty darn impressive, and Japan’s alone boasts a lot of standout films. Some of the Japanese movies showing are 13 Assassins: Director’s Cut, Karate-Robo Zaborgar, Ninja Kids!!! (world premiere), Osamu Tezuka’s Buddha: The Great Departure and Yakuza Weapon.

Those are just the new movies! There are plenty of fan favorites, as well, like Versus and Battle Royale. Check out the full lineup, complete with a handful of trailers, here.
