The new Captain Tsubasa anime is right around the corner, and the official website narrowed it down to a concrete premiere date. Based on the classic soccer manga by Yōichi Takahashi, Captain Tsubasa will make its Japanese television debut on TV Tokyo on April 2 at 1:35am, so technically April 3.
BS Japan will be up next on April 9 at 12:30am (AKA April 10), with further airings to follow on TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu.
Captain Tsubasa features Toshiyuki Kato (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable) as director, with Atsuhiro Tomioka (Inuzama Eleven) on scripts and Hajime Watanabe (School Rumble) on character designs and chief animation direction at anime studio David Production.
