Starting August 30, Netflix users outside Japan will finally be able to catch Carole & Tuesday, the latest series from Shinichiro Watanabe.
Yes, Netflix has once again licensed an anime series and kept it squirreled away until it could amass enough episodes to make it bingeable. The series debuted on Japanese TV and Netflix in Japan back in April.
Still, it could be worse: at least Netflix isn’t waiting until the entire series is complete. It’s dropping the first half, which will eventually top out at 24 episodes.
The series tells the tale of two young musicians, Carole and Tuesday, who meet on the street and decide to team up as a duo. It features English-language musical performances by Nai Br.XX and Celeina Ann, which Netflix will present as-is in its multi-language dubs.
Carole & Tuesday is helmed by Shinichiro Watanabe (supervising director) and Motonobu Hori (director) with scripts by Aya Watanabe. Its first half hits Netflix August 30.
