July just got a bit craftier with the addition of Cop Craft, the anime adaptation of the light novel series by Shoji Gotoh (Full Metal Panic).
We’ve learned who will perform its opening and ending themes: Masayoshi Oishi and Mayu Yoshioka, respectively. Oishi’s work has been featured in anime like Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun and Kemono Friends. Yoshioika, who appears in the series as Tirana, is best known for her singing and speaking role in Wake Up, Girls!.
We’ve also learned the date Cop Craft will premiere: July.
The original light novel series, written by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Range Murata, started in 2009, and its seventh volume is set to be released in July. A “buddy police action” story, it takes place in the fictional San Teresa City, which is home to both humans and beings from an alternate universe. Its main characters are human detective Kei Matoba and Tirana Exedirika, a knight from that alternate universe.
Kei Matoba will be played by Kenjiro Tsuda, and Tirana Exedirika will be played by the aforementioned Mayu Yoshioka.
The series will be directed by Shin Itagaki (2016 Berserk) with scripts from light novel writer Gatoh. Hiromi Kimura will adapt Murata’s designs.
