Otaku USA Magazine
Crunchyroll, Viz to Stream Blue Exorcist

Consider this a little bonus addendum to the monster Crunchyroll Spring 2011 Preview we recently rolled out, though this one includes other avenues of streaming, too. In addition to all of the shows previously mentioned, both Crunchyroll and Viz Media, among others, have announced the addition of Blue Exorcist to their lineups.

The series is based on the manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Kazue Kato. Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) has been running in the pages of Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine since 2009, and is licensed in the US by Viz Media.

Here’s a synopsis straight from the folks at Crunchyroll: “Assiah, the realm of humans, and Gehenna, the realm of demons. Normally, these two dimensions would never intersect, but having possessed all material substances, the demons are now intruding on the material world. But among the human race, there are those who can exorcise such demons – the Exorcists.”

The show’s simulcast kicks off on April 20 at 10 a.m. PST, with new episodes available every Wednesday. Here’s Crunchyroll’s page for Blue Exorcist. The show will also be simulcast on VizAnime.com, Hulu, and Anime News Network.

And if you missed it, here’s our Spring Preview.
