Of the many titles announced for the summer 2019 anime season, we’re pretty sure If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord has the longest title. Go on, try saying it out loud without running out of breath.
Anyway, we’ve got the latest look at If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord (whew!) thanks to a new trailer and visual out this weekend.
The show, which is based on a series of light novels (which you could probably guess based on the length of the title) is due out in July. It’s directed by Takeyuki Yanase, written by Takao Yoshioka and animated over at Maho Film. Yanase previously directed In Another World With My Smartphone, while Yoshioka was the pen behind Watamote and High School DxD.
The series tells the story of a devil girl named Latina (Kanon Takao) who gets adopted by adventurer Dale (Nobuhiko Okamoto).
Here’s how J-Novel Club describes the light novels:
Dale is a cool, composed, and highly skilled adventurer who’s made quite a name for himself despite his youth. One day on a job deep in the forest, he comes across a little devil girl who’s almost wasted away. Unable to just leave her there to die, Dale takes her home and becomes her adoptive father. Devil or not, Latina is beyond adorable, and the adventurer soon finds himself head over heels with being a parent. But why was she out in the forest to begin with, and why does she carry the mark of a criminal?
