Death Note Musical Casts L

The Death Note musical has found its L.

The world’s greatest recluse detective will be played by Teppei Koike, member of the singer-songwriter duo WaT.

Koike joins cast members Kenji Urai and Hayato Kakizawa, who are double-cast as Light Yagami.

“I can’t believe I get to play L. It’ll be a big challenge,” said Koike regarding his casting.

The official Death Note musical Twitter account posted a still of Koike as L on Monday morning.

The Death Note musical is set to premiere in Japan in April 2015. The music is being composed by Frank Wildhorn, who worked on the Broadway musical Jekyll and Hyde. It’ll hit South Korea summer 2015 with a Korean cast.
