dr. stone

One of the most hotly anticipated anime on the way to the Summer 2019 season is Dr. STONE, based on the hit Shonen Jump manga written by Eyeshield 21‘s Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Sun-Ken Rock‘s Boichi. Shinya Iino (episodes of Barakamon, Plastic Memories) directs, with Yuichiro Kido (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga) writing and Yuko Iwasa (Yowamushi Pedal) designing characters at TMS Entertainment (MEGALOBOX), and Crunchyroll announced plans to stream the series as it airs.

More information about the simulcast is due out in the near future, but for now you can sit back and enjoy the official preview.

Here’s how Dr. Stone manga publisher Viz describes the story:

One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science-loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he’s got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!
