Earlier this week we posted about the debut of Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto’s new manga, Samurai 8, which he’s writing along with illustrations by his former assistant Akira Okubo. Timed nicely with its launch in the Japanese edition of Shonen Jump, Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru premiered in English with a 72-page opening chapter.
Viz Media celebrated the launch this week, pairing the announcement with the addition of more titles to the Shonen Jump Digital Vault. The latest series now available as part of the Vault membership, which is just $1.99 a month to join, include JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure parts 1-3 (Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, and Stardust Crusaders), Golden Kamuy (web-only), and One-Punch Man. You can access the content via the official website or the iOS and Android-based app.
As for Kishimoto’s new series, once you’re done with the first chapter you can look forward to new chapters on a weekly basis. Let us know if you’ve had a chance to read it and tell us what you think of Samurai 8 in the comments!
