Evangelion Voice Actor Megumi Ogata Has Fun with Asuka Bottle

Evangelion Voice Actor Megumi Ogata Has Fun with Asuka Plastic BottleAs fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion know, the relationship between characters Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley was… complicated.

Megumi Ogata, the voice of Shinji, referenced that relationship while having some fun with an Asuka-themed piece of merchandise on Twitter this week.

The merchandise in question was a plastic bottle in the form of Asuka, complete with plug suit. In Japan, you’re supposed to remove the plastic coverings from bottles before you recycle them, and Ogata played that up in a series of tweets in which she took on the Shinji role.

“Asuka, I’ve got to throw you away now, so I’m going to strip you down. It’s okay, right?

…ahhh I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sor”

“This… this is a big misunderstanding! My father told me to clean bottles before I throw them away! That’s all!

But your body is beautiful…

…I’m scum! I’m scum!”

“Before I knew what I was doing, I added some body paint…

…this is horrible! I was working! I was just listening to music, writing some lyrics, and my hands just started moving on their own… I’m the worst. I’m sorry, Asuka! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
