Evangelion’s Asuka in Kimono with Dagger Figurine Previewed

There hasn’t been much in the way of new Evangelion anime in a while (and probably won’t be, at least until Godzilla’s finished), but that hasn’t stopped Takara Tomy from designing a new set of Evangelion figurines centered around the series’ main three heroines, Asuka, Rei and Mari.

The theme this time around is kimono plus Japanese swords, and the first figurine out the gate is Asuka, wearing her traditional bright red and wielding a Japanese dagger. And if we know Asuka’s personality, she probably wouldn’t hesitate to use it.

The figurine will debut in January with a price tag of ¥16,200 (about $130), so start saving your pennies. Preorders are currently being accepted at Takara Tomy Mall (Japanese).

Scheduled to appear next is Mari, followed by Rei. As usual, Misato fans (read: me) have been utterly abandoned. C’mon, guys!
