Japan has been taking a lot of measures to contain the coronavirus outbreak in the region, and the latest brings the concerns to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. In an effort to ensure everyone’s safety and prevent further spread, the museum announced that it will be closing its doors from February 25 to March 17.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has put its own plan into effect called the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Event Handling measure, which aims to cancel or postpone all large-scale, government-sponsored indoor events until mid-March. Smaller events will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Those who already purchased tickets to the Ghibli Museum during the three-week closure will receive refunds.
