Godzilla Strikes in New Resurgence Trailer

Things are looking pretty grim in the latest trailer for Godzilla Resurgence, AKA Shin Godzilla, which has Evangelion‘s Hideaki Anno teaming up with live-action Attack on Titan director Shinji Higuchi for what the latter promises will be the “scariest Godzilla yet.”

That certainly seems to be the goal in the new trailer, in which Godzilla wreaks havoc as the Japanese Self-Defense Force scrambles to come up with an effective solution. The music alone is dark enough to make this seem about as hopeless a plight as ever for humanity.
