It’s the matchup the world has been waiting for. Godzilla vs. Evangelion: The Real 4D will stomp its way into Universal Studios Japan starting May 31.
The attraction features an original story that takes place in Osaka-III, a take on Tokyo-III from the original Neon Genesis Evangelion.
In the story, Osaka-III is an important staging area for the battle against the Angels following Second Impact. Participants play the role of government inspectors who board a special flying vehicle called a Glaux to get an overhead view of the city. Suddenly, Godzilla appears. Misato sends out Shinji, Rei and Asuka in their Evangelion units to take him on—and the Glaux gets caught in the action.
The attraction lasts about 20 minutes, including pre-show.
Naturally, aside from the ride itself, several limited-edition pieces of merchandise are also on offer, including cookies and a popcorn bucket limited to 5,000 units that fuses Godzilla with Eva Unit-01.
Godzilla vs. Evangelion: The Real 4D lasts until August 25.
