Goku-Vegeta Fusion Gogeta to Appear in Dragon Ball Super: Broly

It turns out Broly won’t be the only Dragon Ball character to be canonized by Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

The film, which comes out December 14, is the first official appearance by Broly, making him a part of the Akira Toriyama Dragon Ball canon.

But it turns out that another extra-canon figure will be showing up for the party: Gogeta.

Gogeta is what happens when Goku and Vegeta get together and do a Fusion Dance, and is not to be confused with Vegito—that’s when the two combine using the Potara Earrings.

He (they?) debuted in the non-canon film Fusion Reborn back in 1995, and also appeared on Dragon Ball GT, and some video games.

But Broly is Toriyama-approved, making Gogeta Dragon Ball canon. Gogeta fans, rejoice.

In the English dub of the film, the voices of Goku and Vegeta voice actors Sean Schemmel and Christopher Sabat will be fused. You can hear a sample in a trailer released this weekend.

Broly hits theaters in the U.S. January 16.
