Japanese Fans Ship Characters From Unrelated Anime Series In New Poll

Japanese polling site Charapedia is getting inventive. For its 114th anime-and-manga-related poll, it’s asked its readers, “what two characters from totally unrelated shows have you always thought would make a good couple?”

Or, in short, Charapedia has officially sanctioned some serious shipping.

What characters did Japanese fans decide to pair up? The list, plus the justifications, below!

1. Producer (The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls) and Sheryl Nome (Macross Frontier)
“The Galactic Fairy and the producer with ‘that’ ability.”

2. Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya (Sword Art Online) and Konata Izumi (Lucky Star)
“An unbeatable gamer couple.”

3. Hachiman Hikigaya (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) and Tomoko Kuroki (Watamote)
“Pessimist plus pessimist.”

4. Keiichi Nakagawa (Kochikame) and Nasuno Takamiya (Teekyu)
“Both are filthy rich.”

5. Subaru Hasegawa (Ro-Kyu-Bu!) and Elpeo Ple (Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ)
“Elementary school is awesome!”

6. Hanamichi Sakuragi (Slam Dunk) and Riko Aida (Kuroko’s Basketball)
“Manager Riko has the ability to bring out player Hanamichi’s hidden talent.”

7. Lupin III (Lupin III) and Rinslet Walker (Black Cat)
“The legendary thief becomes captive to another top burglar.”

8. Kyon (Haruhi Suzumiya) and Nobume Imai (Gintama)
“Could the guy who can control Haruhi’s emotions do the same for this dangerous female assassin?”

9. Enel (One Piece) and Mikoto Misaka (A Certain series)
“A literally shocking pair.”

10. Kurapika (Hunter x Hunter) and Ai Enma (Hell Girl)
“Watch out for those red eyes.”

Bonus: Kogarashi (Kamen no Maid Guy) and Mahoro Andou (Mahoromatic)
“Maid for each other.”

There you have it, OUSAers. How about you – if you could ship any two anime characters, who would they be?
